Ymweliad Tir Coed gyda'r Royal Forestry Society

On Monday 9th of October, Tir Coed Director, Leila Sharland and newly appointed Dysgu am Goed Development Officer, Lowri Hopkins paid the Royal Forestry Society a visit at their main office in Banbury.
Both Leila and Lowri met with Simon Lloyd, Chief Executive, Jen Turner, Development Manager, Corinne Moss, Teaching Trees Project Coordinator and Wendy Necar, Communications Officer.
The main item on the agenda was Tir Coed's project in partnership with the Royal Forestry Society. Dysgu am Goed is a special Welsh adaption of the current Teaching Trees programme in England piloting in Ceredigion funded by Cynnal y Cardi. The project will be delivered through the medium of Welsh and will be closely linked to the Welsh curriculum.
Dysgu am Goed will work with Ceredigion Primary Schools to deliver curriculum based activities in the local woodlands. Whilst taking part in fun, engaging activities, the pupils will develop numeracy, science, literacy and communication skills as well as working as part of a team and independently and learning the welsh names for trees and plants.
Shortly, we will introduce you to the two new members of staff that will be working on the project.
There will be much more developments happening with our Dysgu am Goed project in the near future with the activities starting in the woods and an exciting launch before the end of the year - watch this space!
