Getting ready for the big event!

Written by Tir Coed / Friday 23 September 2016

A small group of enthusiastic volunteers helped with setting up the Forest School area in Long Wood ready for the Tir Coed celebration event on the following day.

Tarps were set up in case of bad weather, Tir Coed banners were hung between the trees, colourful bunting (kindly loaned by the Brynog Arms in Ystrad Aeron) was draped from tree to tree, lining the route from the bus stop up and guiding visitors to the woodland area. The cosy fire pit area was tidied up and logs were cut ready for the welcoming fire for the event.

A warming cuppa was appreciated by everyone while they reflected on their mornings work of making the area colourful, safe and welcoming for the many visitors that came on the day. Many thanks to all the fantastic volunteers, along with activity tutors Rob Smith and Eifion Wakefield, who helped out.
