Creating Positive Lasting Change
At Tir Coed, we believe people, communities and nature thrive together.
We create positive lasting change by connecting people with land and woods across mid and west Wales.
Through these experiences, people improve their wellbeing, build confidence, develop skills and discover new opportunities. At the same time, we support stronger communities and healthier natural environments.
When people thrive, nature benefits. And when nature thrives, people benefit too.
Our impact
Everything we do focuses on three connected areas of change.
Helping people thrive
Strengthening communities
Supporting nature to flourish

Looking ahead
We are committed to continuing to create opportunities for people, communities and nature to thrive together.
As needs grow and challenges change, we will continue working alongside our partners and communities to deliver meaningful, nature-based opportunities that make a lasting difference across mid and west Wales.
We support marginalised people to improve their wellbeing, build confidence and develop practical skills through meaningful experiences in nature.
For many people, this is a first step towards reconnecting with others, rebuilding confidence or finding direction in life.
Through our work, people experience:
- Improved wellbeing
- Increased confidence
- Reduced isolation
- New skills and experience
- Progression into volunteering, education or employment
- A stronger sense of belonging
Every journey is different, but each one reflects the power of engaging with learning and wellbeing opportunities in the outdoors.
We help create stronger, more connected communities across mid and west Wales.
By working alongside community groups, landowners, organisations and partners, we support opportunities for participation, volunteering and shared activity in green spaces.
This helps to:
- Reduce social isolation
- Build community connection
- Strengthen local partnerships
- Increase volunteering and participation
- Support more resilient rural communities
When people feel connected to each other and their environment, communities become stronger and more sustainable.
We care for land, woodlands and other greenspaces, helping to protect, improve and provide access to the spaces that support both people and wildlife.
Through practical conservation, woodland management and environmental learning, we help to:
- Improve woodland health
- Increase biodiversity
- Restore and care for habitats
- Strengthen environmental awareness
- Encourage long-term appreciation of nature
By connecting people with nature, we help build a deeper understanding and care for the environment.
