Semper Funquet with Tony Wrench
Written by Tir Coed / Tuesday 16 January 2018
Tony Wrench is known by many as the granddaddy of round house construction. He has led builds all over the UK and Europe and has inspired many all over the world.
Low impact builds are important to Tony; he lives in an ecohome of wood frame, cobwood and recycled window walls and a straw-insulated turf roof; with solar power and wind turbine for electricity, compost toilet and reed beds for grey water. His house adorns the cover of the One Planet Development policy!
He has written books documenting his journey from novice to expert as well as guides that have helped others follow in his footsteps, to learn from his successes and his mistakes. Check out That Round House website for great pictures and videos of his process.
We are very lucky as Tony has agreed to lead our 12 week Construction of a Basic Wooden Structure course in Scolton near Haverfordwest that starts at the beginning of February. He will be supported by Richard Sylvan who has taken over from Tony since his (almost) retirement.
