Autumnal Preparations in Ceredigion
Written by Tir Coed / Monday 02 November 2020
Our Ceredigion Activity Leaders, Cath Rigler and Jonathan ‘Stevie’ Stevenson are back to work after 6 months on furlough over lockdown. They are preparing to welcome our participants back to the woods and are spending the next few weeks setting up our Coed Tyllwyd woodland site to enable Covid safe workshops and activity.
It has been necessary to change our usual ways of working to meet the ever changing national guidelines, so we have started planning and preparing activities that will enable us to get people back into the woods to reconnect people with nature and take part in some enjoyable and engaging activities.
Cath and Stevie have been trying out adaptions to the workshop and shelter that ensure everyone can stay warm and dry while maintaining social distance. Although we will have to run activities with smaller groups, they are planning a great programme of activity for the winter months.
“There is plenty of work to do after such a long break, we can’t wait to get stuck in and carry on with some of the amazing work started by our trainees last spring. With the felling season not far off there will be plenty of sensitive management to carry out over the winter with a focus on improving the access for the public and increasing the biodiversity of the woods.”
