Basic Tree Pathology course
Written by Tir Coed / Thursday 29 November 2018
Three staff members recently attended a one-day Basic Tree Inspection course based at MWMAC’s headquarters in Builth Wells. The course covered identifying potentially dangerous trees and causes of tree disease including fungal pathogens such as Chalara Fraxineus (Ash dieback) which sadly is becoming increasingly prevalent within Welsh woodlands.
Although listed as a basic course the content was comprehensive and equipped staff with an extensive toolkit, both theoretical and practical, to better assess public access woodlands that we manage.
Overall an excellent day and great to see MWMAC’s headquarters and the beautiful woodland it is sited in. We would like to thank Chris Hughes, course tutor for an excellent day and for sharing his extensive knowledge on tree health and pathology.
