Written by Tir Coed / Tuesday 20 February 2024
Tir Coed are delighted to announce their recent success in securing funding to deliver the AnTir Pembrokeshire Project in 2023/24.
The AnTir Pembrokeshire Project has received £153,870 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, supported by Pembrokeshire County Council. This project will enable Tir Coed to deliver woodland, nature-based, food growing and heritage skills courses, taster sessions and volunteering opportunities across Pembrokeshire.
Our provision will engage people in nature through outdoor volunteering and training to enhance wellbeing and skills, offering accredited learning and experience relevant for green jobs, one-to-one mentoring, advice and guidance which will support person-centred progression towards greater economic and community engagement.
The practical work undertaken during the AnTir Pembrokeshire Project will serve to enhance both community spaces and biodiversity for the benefit of all.
Operations Director Cath Seymour says: “This is a fantastic outcome for the future of Tir Coed in Pembrokeshire. It means that we can continue to support disadvantaged people, offer more tailored horticultural, woodland and land-based training for those who aspire to progress into outdoor jobs within green-skills sectors. Our training courses and volunteering opportunities will contribute towards the enhancement of community spaces for the collective wellbeing of all. It means that we can contribute our small part in responding to key challenges faced by the people of Pembrokeshire, while helping local communities become more resilient.”
