Tir Coed's 25 Year Celebration in Scolton Woods

As we continue our 25-year anniversary celebrations, Tir Coed hosted a memorable event in the beautiful Scolton Woods, Pembrokeshire. It was a cold but bright afternoon, with snow dusting other parts of Wales, making the gathering even more special.
The day was filled with joy, camaraderie, and, of course, cake. Our Co-CEOs, Cath Seymour (Head of Operations) and Helen Gethin (Head of Finance), delivered heartfelt speeches that reflected on the incredible growth of Tir Coed from its humble beginnings in 1999 to its current success in 2024. They also shared their commitment and optimism towards the future, emphasizing our continued mission to unlock the potential of land and woodlands to provide a community facility, educational and health activities, and to create job opportunities whilst taking strides to tackle the climate and biodiversity crises at a local level.
The event not only celebrated Tir Coed's impressive achievements but also highlighted the profound impact our work has had on individuals and communities. We were thrilled to have the support of our incredible referral organisations, the landowners Jerry and Charlotte, and many of our past trainees who have been a part of Tir Coed's journey.
Jerry and Charlotte expressed their gratitude during the event:
"Thank you to Tir Coed for helping to create the facilities to support the wellbeing of many groups within the local community. The site at Scolton Woods has been used by school groups and organisations, including the NHS, and Mind to name a few."
Past trainee Bev also shared her inspiring story:
"I've been on quite a few courses with Tir Coed—it's really opened me up to nature and making things with wood. I've had so many more opportunities and it's improved my mental health—it's been brilliant!"
