Tir Coed's Annual Tutor Gathering

Tir Coed used the Victoria Hall, Lampeter, as the venue for a gathering of staff and 17 of our regular freelance tutors on September 25th.
Lampeter is central to the three counties in which we currently operate (Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and Powys), and therefore made an ideal location to help ensure that as many of our tutors could attend as possible.
The activities commenced with a buffet and the opportunity to network, meeting old friends, and making new connections.
Presentations outlined recent exciting developments within Tir Coed, including secured funding, our expansion into new areas (including Carmarthenshire), introducing new staff members, and developments in the Accreditation paperwork and processes.
Tutors were introduced to Eleri, our PhD student, who will be joining a number of training sessions over the coming year. Eleri is partnered with the Elan Valley Trust and Aberystwyth University to study the impact that Tir Coed has upon participants' well-being and employment.
Small group workshop sessions then gave the opportunity for lively discussion, and to contribute ideas and feedback regarding future developmental plans.
The warm and friendly atmosphere during the event was enjoyed by all. We look forward to future events, and to moving forward together to provide opportunities to develop skills, and access to woodland.
