Youngsters enjoy some fun in the woods

We were delighted to welcome a group of young people from Futureworks to a lovely day in the woods last week where they got to try their hands at some woodland skills and basic bushcraft.
The group got stuck into a mini taster session of woodland carpentry and practical skills in the outdoors, making their own mallets, building shelters and taking part in a series of woodland team challenges.
The group finished the day by toasting s’mores around the campfire - but in true Tir Coed style, they obviously had to build and light it themselves first.
We absolutely loved having the Futureworks group on site. It was a pleasure to work with young people embracing outdoor activities with such enthusiasm.
“What a great day with the year 11s today,” said Futureworks P&Q co-ordinator, Aidan George.
“It was great to see them enjoying themselves after what has been a tough 18months.
“Thank you to Tir Coed for organising a fun day that gave the learners the freedom to express themselves, laugh, build skills and most importantly enjoy.
“We are already looking forward to our next trip to the woods!”
