  • YMCA Stepping Up Group visit Elan Valley

    The YMCA Stepping Up group will be visiting the Elan Valley on a 3 night retreat. During their stay, they will enjoy numerous activities including a dam tour, kayaking, high rope activities, forest adventure and art and craft activities.

  • Sustainable Woodland Management - Pembrokeshire

    The aim of Pembrokeshire's second 12 week training course is to build on the knowledge and skills gained during the 5 day Welcome week with a focus on sustainable woodland management.

    Changes UK will be visiting Elan Valley for a 2 night retreat. During their stay they will enjoy numerous activities made possible through the Elan Links HLF project.

    Ceredigion's 5 day progression course in Wood Fuel will be held in Coed Tyllwyd Llanfarian.

  • Sustainable Woodland Management - Pembrokeshire

    The aim of Pembrokeshire's second 12 week training course is to build on the knowledge and skills gained during the 5 day Welcome week with a focus on sustainable woodland management.

  • Bench Building Progression - Pembrokeshire

    This course is a progression course designed for people who have been on previous Tir Coed courses or who have some experience in woodworking and will be held at The Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran. As with all our courses, this course is aimed at people who are unemployed or underemployed and interested in woodland working. Places will be allocated based on need. We are able to offer some help with transport.

    Under the supervision of our expert tutors, participants will use local timber to build rustic picnic benches which will be donated to the Wildlife Centre. This will introduce important green woodworking and timber framing skills on a small scale project.

  • Elan Valley Progression Week

    A 5 day progression week will be offered at the Elan Valley as part of the Elan Links project for those who have been on previous courses. The participants will use the traditional wood craft skills they have learnt to produce equipment for future courses including pole lathes and shave horses.
