Forest School activity day at Long Wood Community Woodland near Lampeter
Some of the families from Llandysul Family Centre are visiting Long Wood Community Woodland near Lampeter for a fun day in the woods with Forest School activities.

Woodland Craft Activity Days, Allt Goch Woods, Llanidloes
One of three Tir Coed activity days run by experienced creative artist Terri Sweeney. Terri will guide the group in the creation of a group sculpture that will progress over three sessions. Tir Coed have offered these sessions to participants for free in order to set into motion an on-going creative arts group within Llanidloes. Tir Coed is supporting local practitioners in this way to develop their businesses for the benefit of local people. The sessions will take place in Allt Goch Woods, Llanidloes on:

Tree Identification and Information Walk, Newtown, Powys
Our second stage progression volunteer, Dave Wilcox, and our experienced tutor Colin Titley are leading a tree identification and information walk around some exciting sites in Newtown. This is the first activity day that Dave will have helped facilitate for Tir Coed and we are very proud of his progression from volunteering to leadership.

Demonstration Forest School day 1 at Coed Tyllwyd, Llanfarian
Students of childcare from Coleg Ceredigion will be getting a taste of Forest School techniques on the 20th and 27th of April. This first session will be led by James Kendall and Lea Wakeman, whose "Woodland Classroom" forest schools have been a resounding success in the area. Students will learn the basic principles of forest school, and gain experience of fireside, den building, wide game and craft activities to enrich their curriculum.

Biodiversity Day with Scott Roe at Coed Tyllwyd Llanfarian
A biodiversity monitoring day will be running at Coed Tyllwyd, Llanfarian, led by experienced local surveyor and entomologist, Scott Roe.
The activity will integrate insect identification skills with the ongoing monitoring of the effects of management practices in this woodland to restore the native species on this ancient woodland site. This will include identification of insects from night traps and identification of aquatic larvae. Hot drinks and snacks will be provided.
This expert led day is offered free of charge as part of the VINE program, and is open to anyone with an interest in woodlands, insects or the environment.
Coed Tyllwyd is easily accessible by bike, bus and car from Aberystwyth.

Tir Coed at the Welsh Wildlife Centre, Cilgerran - Open Day
Tir Coed are attending the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales Open Day at Cilgerran to launch Outdoor Learning Wales in Ceredigion. We will be running short workshops and introducing green woodworking to the people booked on the sessions. This will provide us with an opportunity to promote the work that we do including training courses and developing skills in woodland management and crafts.
