VINE Celebration Open Day at Coed Tyllwyd, Llanfarian
Written by Tir Coed / Wednesday 12 October 2016
The VINE Celebration at Coed Tyllwyd filled the woods with visitors of all ages sharing their experiences of the project, rejoicing in the work done and engaging in a range of woodland activities. It was great to see such a diverse mix of people brought together by their work in this woodland, which (along with some late Autumn sun) created a very positive atmosphere.
Peter from the Green Goat Cafe served up some culinary delights to keep everyone going:
Adam Thorogood and Bob Shaw led a woodland walk, discussing the management that has been carried out by volunteers to promote native species in the woodland, and looking at the techniques employed to restore PAWS (Plantation on Ancient Woodland Site) woodlands:
Cath Rigler and Al Prichard led creative games, as well as fireside marshmallow cooking.
Thanks to everyone who came along and created such a vibrant event, and to all who put in the work to make this woodland the fantastic resource for the community that it is now, you have a lot to be proud of!
Attendees: 100+
