Ceredigion Woodland Carpentry Course

Written by Tir Coed / Monday 27 May 2019

The first job in hand was constructing fire-side seating and crafting mallets and mauls to assist with construction throughout the course. The trainees will use their useful handcrafted tools for cleaving and installing traditional post and rail fencing and gates and to generally improve the access to the woodland site.

The trainees will be constructing picnic tables and benches using larch extracted from the woodland over the winter months, which will create a space for the local community and visiting families to use and enjoy the peaceful setting.

This is an accredited course where the trainees will gain and develop many new skills and make lasting friendships as they work together to make the lasting improvements to the site.

No. of trainees: 12
