Tell us a little something about yourself...
I have lived I mid Wales for nearly 30 years, the last 20 of which has been spent living off-grid in a small cottage in a small woodland where I’m continuing to strive to become ever more self-sufficient.
What are your hobbies?
I love the vistas and views from the hills and mountains, I love exploring the wooded valleys as well as walking across bleak moorlands.
I also enjoy a variety of outdoor pursuits, including kayaking, fishing, gardening and photography - this autumn, I have concentrated on photographing mushrooms and fungi.
What do you enjoy most about being outdoors?
Living and feeling close to nature are very important to me due to what it has to offer in terms of leisure, work, wellbeing and therapeutic outcomes.
What excites you most about your new role?
Being part of Tir Coed gives me the sense of being part of the solution in terms of spreading and sharing sustainable environmental ideas and activities and encouraging and providing opportunities for others to engage in.
What's your favourite season of the year and why?
My favourite season? They all have something to offer so I can’t decide.
If you were a tree, what tree would you be and why?
If I was a tree I would like to be the oldest oak in the wood because I would be providing a home to such a diversity of other wildlife.
