Dysgu am Goed - First Session

Written by Tir Coed / Tuesday 12 December 2017

Year 2 from Ysgol y Dderi School came along for a Dysgu am Goed session with Emma, our Education Officer.

Firstly, Emma took the children for a walk around the woods, explaining to the children about the management of the wood and pointing out various trees. Along the way, the children were asked to find different animals.

After the short walk, the children were split into two groups and were asked to form food chains from the flashcards that were given to them. The children also worked together to try and identify the various trees and leaves that they were given.

The children and teachers enjoyed their few hours outside of the classroom and look forward to spending more time in the natural environment.
