Hello! from Leila
Written by Tir Coed / Wednesday 19 April 2017
Hello! It's been a very busy time since I started as Director of Tir Coed on March 1st to cover Ffion on her maternity leave. Tir Coed have also said farewell to Jack, one of our Jobs Growth Wales Placements, as well as hello to little Idris in this period... more to follow in future blogs.
Ffion left a little earlier than planned so I've been working hard to catch up. Since starting I've visited the training courses at both Coed Tyllwyd and Elan Valley, as well as attending a Green Health day in Aberystwyth. I've also been to two new sites being developed in Pembrokeshire and met with various people we are hoping to partner with in future. Of course, there are lots more people for me to get to know and I am really looking forward to seeing lots of new faces over the next few weeks.
A bit about me:
I completed a degree in Environmental Biology at Aberystywth University in 2001 followed by a Masters in Environmental Education. After this I was an event organiser before starting to work in renewable energy. Some of my most recent projects have been in community renewables while at Sharenergy. I've lived in and around mid Wales for nearly 20 years now, learning a little Welsh long the way and raising two beautiful sons.
