LEAF now in Carmarthenshire
Written by Tir Coed / Friday 25 January 2019
With the LEAF project cruising into its second year in Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys, a development year has begun in Carmarthenshire. Nancy, who is currently working on the project in Pembrokeshire, will be carrying out scoping in the county. This will involve building links with potential landowners, tutors, referral agencies and partnership organisations. She will also be finding out what is already going on in the county to ensure that any future work of Tir Coed's is complimenting existing provision rather than duplicating it.
Nancy will be based in the CAVS (Carmarthenshire Association of Voluntary Services) in Carmarthen once a week. This will be an excellent networking opportunity as CAVS are linked with most third sector organisations in the county and they will help share information about the project. Other organisations such as West Wales Action for Mental Health, also live in the building offering further opportunity for partnership working.
Nancy has experience in working in the county after spending two years working in the Education Department of the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
I'm really looking forward to working in my home county and reconnecting with different people I have worked with before. The idea of bringing the brilliant LEAF project into Carmarthenshire is really exciting!
