Securing Success: AnTir Ceredigion Project
Written by Tir Coed / Tuesday 13 February 2024
Tir Coed are delighted to announce their recent success in securing funding to deliver the AnTir Ceredigion Project in 2023/24.
The AnTir Ceredigion Project has received £172,056 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, supported by Ceredigion County Council. This project will enable Tir Coed to deliver woodland, nature-based, food growing and heritage skills courses, taster sessions and volunteering opportunities across Ceredigion.
Building on the success of the pilot AnTir Feasibility project in Ceredigion funded through the UK Government ‘s Community Renewal Fund (CRF) during 2021, the provision will offer people work-specific skills, accredited learning and experience relevant for green jobs. The provision includes one-to-one mentoring, advice and guidance, supporting person-centred progression towards greater economic and community engagement.
The practical work undertaken during the AnTir Ceredigion Project will serve to enhance both community spaces and biodiversity for the benefit of all.
Operations Director Cath Seymour says: “This is fantastic news for the future of Tir Coed in Ceredigion. It means that we can continue to put into practice the learning from the research and development stages of our AnTir Feasibility project, continue to support disadvantaged people, offer more targeted training for those who aspire to progress into outdoor jobs or volunteering and improve community spaces for the collective wellbeing of all. It gives us the resources to play our small part in responding to key challenges faced by the people of Ceredigion, while helping local communities become more resilient.”
