Delivering Arts and Crafts activities for Ysgol Llwyn yr Eos
Ran by tutors Jenny Dingle and Maia Sparrow, the school Special Needs Unit enjoyed arts and craft activities from their onsite forest garden. 36 participants completed 36 hours in total of the bespoke activities!

There had been a lot of buzz around the latest 12 week course, with 12 participants building a roundhouse, at the Elan Valley. The build certainly had a Tir Coed family feel, with wood supplied from one of the Ceredigion Tir Coed sites and this along with unique design of the building meant that we had over double the applicants than spaces!

11 trainees have joined our 12-week woodland carpentry course in Pembrokeshire. During this course they will learn all the skills needed to build 3 timber bridges and make a path through the woods to link up with existing tracks and create a circular route.
Rob Smith is leading the course with Eugene Noakes as his able support tutor.
Jerry Roberson has generously provided us with the location and materials including some beautiful curved timbers to construct a humpback bridge.

I'm sure everyone's wondering whether the 10 Tir Coed representatives survived the 21 mile litter pick! Well - they have, and they finished the walk in 8 hours 57 minutes; successfully collecting 12 full bags of litter. Read moreCeredigion Woodland Carpentry Course
Ceredigion's 12-week course started last week, running from Coed Tyllwyd, Llanfarian. Lead by Jamie Miller and supported by Cath Rigler, the trainees have got a feel of what the course will be like and what they will be constructing. Over the next 11 weeks, the trainees will undertake various practical tasks, including construction of steps, benches and log stores. Let’s hope the beautiful weather holds out for them.
