Japanese girls visit Long Wood

Written by Tir Coed / Dydd Mercher 21 Medi 2016

A group of Japanese girls along with their Ghanian leader from UNA Exchange in Cardiff have recently spent a day volunteering in Long Wood. This group of young women have travelled from the Tokyo area of Japan, to spend a couple of weeks in Wales, staying at Denmark Farm, and have taken part in various activities while they’ve been here.

Their day in Long Wood involved installing some beautiful carved signs that had been made previously by members of CAMFAN and tutor Mark Folds. Mark, along with tutor Jamie Miller, worked with the girls to dig the holes and install the signs around the woodland, including the one’s near the visitor centre and others near the Forest School and mill area. These lovely oak signs now benefit visitors to the wood by directing them to the different areas within Long Wood.
