Sustainable Woodland Management Course Begins, Coed Tyllwyd

Written by Tir Coed / Dydd Mercher 01 Mawrth 2017

Trainees at Coed Tyllwyd have braved the wild weather to make some great progress in the woods.

Once again trainees on the woodland management course are making a positive impact on the woodland; improving the path network, thinning some small trees to benefit the native broadleaves, and attaching a lean-to kitchen to the Caban.

The course has brought together participants from a range of backgrounds and with diverse aspirations, with everyone working well together already thanks to the leadership of the course tutors Rob Smith and Cath Rigler.

The work on improving the path network by widening and leveling pathways and installing steps has opened up routes through what was previously quite inaccessible woodland for many walkers.

It's done me right good this walk - brought back up, back into the world.
You mentioned safety earlier. It's really important...I feel safe here in the woods!
I love learning the names if the tools, and the processes - how to use them safely.
